Cala Mesquida

East coast, near Mahon

It is easily accessible and there is car parking, but facilities on the beach are scant. Nudists tend to gather at the southern end of the beach; it can get extremely busy on a hot summer afternoon and the nudist area expands accordingly to take over a larger area of the main beach. Facilities  A lavatory, occasionally an ice cream seller and, in season, a red cross hut and a life guard
Car park  There is a small car park
Best time to go  The beach starts to fill from 11am. In the late afternoon the sun disappears behind the cliffs
How to get there From the roundabout at the bottom (docks end) of Mahon harbour, follow the signs for Cala Llonga, turning left up the hill past the power station. Follow the Carretera Mola up the hill and take the first left, signed Sa Mesquida. Bear left down this road, go through the village, and carry on until you reach the parking area above the beach. When you reach the sands on foot, turn right…
